Aladdin�s Magic Lube is Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) based lubricant that is excellent for use with rubber gaskets and fittings in the aquarium setting. Its hydrophobic nature allows it to effectively repel water, creating a watertight seal while lubricating the rubber o-ring. This lubrication is resistant to most chemicals, and was designed to hold up in adverse conditions, including saltwater. One of the most important aspects of this lubricant is its USDA H-1 rating: this rating means that it is environmentally safe, and is not likely to harm aquarium inhabitants if accidentally introduced to the tank or pond.
